Our Story

The independent organic food and natural health products store is situated at 15 Stone Row, just off the Diamond. Two decades ago, tired of trying to source natural healthcare products locally, Mr and Mrs Ivor Bolton decided to open a health store in the town centre. Mrs Bolton gave up a salaried post to run the shop full time, and they began trading on Stone Row on August 15, 1995. Mr Bolton went on to train as a nutritionist, and after much hard work a void was filled for the people of Coleraine and surrounding areas.

Since those early days The Real Health Store has become an established name throughout the North Coast. The summer of 2012 saw a significant and necessary move to a larger more modern facility. Whilst remaining on Stone Row, the new premises have more than doublde the floor space and the range of products available has almost trebled since the move.

The store stocks a wide range of organic foods, food supplements, herbal remedies and natural body care, not to mention aromatherapy, sports nutrition, household and eco-friendly items. All the products are of the highest quality and many are unique to the area, while still offering customers value for money. In addition, supplier ethics are of the utmost importance.

The Real Health Store team now consists of six dedicated members of staff, who are in their own right knowledgeable, as well as helpful and caring. They are qualified in areas such as nutrition and alternative healthcare and share a genuine interest not just in natural health, preventative healthcare and the environment, but in people. They offer invaluable advice, and if required, referrals to one of the many natural health practitioners in the area.

The latest addition to the team at Real Health is, Ivors daughter Emma. She has been helping out by doing some work remotely from her home in N Wales, but has now relocated back to the area and commenced training some time ago.
